What is Beet ?
When the winter months came, various colorful vegetables fill the stalls. Perhaps the vegetable that attracts the most attention due to its color is the red beet. Although there are different types of beets, perhaps the most well-known type is red beet. Beetroot is from the spinach family. It is known that there are sugar beet and about fifteen more varieties besides edbible red beet. While provender and sugar are produced for animals from sugar beet; salads, meals and pickles can be made from red beet. Since I was a child, both my mother and grandmother used to have red beets in their kitchens, both for salads and as pickles. Being a rich source of vitamins and minerals, red beetroot is also loved for its color and taste, and it has many health benefits.
Are Beets Good For You ?
In addition to its beautiful color, the benefits of beet must also be mentioned. It can be said that red beetroot, which is consumed in salads or as pickles, is a very necessary vegetable for children's food consumption. This miraculous vegetable has many vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C, potassium ,phosphate, manganese, calcium, iron and selenium. The green part of the red beet, which can also be consumed, consists of eighty-seven percent water, eight percent carbohydrates and two or three percent fiber. It helps to strengthen the immune system due to the vitamin c content of red beet. Red beet is also known to be a high source of antioxidants.

Beet Salad Ingredients
2 Beets
1 Tablespoon of Chopped Walnuts
Some Chopped Parsley
3 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
Some Lemon Juice
1 Clove of Garlic
How to Make Beetroot Salad ?
Chop two beets into three of four parts with their peels.
Put the chopped beet pieces into a pressure cooker.
Add enough boiling water into the pressure cooker in order to cover all the beets.
Boil the beets in the pressure cooker about thirty minutes.
Peel off the boiled beets well.
And chop the boiled beets into cubes.
Take the chopped boiled beets to a salad bowl.
Pour three tablespoons of olive oil onto the beets.
Add one clove of chopped garlic.
Add some chopped parsley.
Add some chopped walnuts.
Lastly add your lemon juice and salt to your salad.
Mix all the ingredients well.
