Rice with Vermicelli |
What is Vermicelli?
Vermicelli is the general name which is given to small grain pasta. It can be cooked alone as rice vermicelli pilaf, or it is often used to add color to pilafs and soups. The most commonly used vermicelli types are plain vermicelli, barley vermicelli and star vermicelli. Vermicelli is similar to spaghetti but it is smaller with a stringly appearance. Barley noodle is similar to sunflower seed. It is flat and oval like a sunflower seed. Noodles find a place in many delicious recipes in our kitchen, from barley noodle to plain vermicelli or star vermicelli. When noodle is added to soups as well as pilaf, delicious flavors emerge. Of course, it is unthinkable to use vermicelli only in soups and pilafs. There is no doubt that noodle goes very well with delicious salads, meatball recipes and main courses. You will be surprised to see that vermicelli, which is so delicious that you do not want to use bulgur and rice in some dinner recipes, is used in so many different dishes. The simplest of vermicelli recipes is undoubtedly vermicelli pilaf. It is easier to prepare than both bulgur pilaf and rice pilaf. Vermicellis are first roasted. Then boiling water is added. After the noodles are brewed, the vermicelli pilaf is ready. That's how easy it is. After making the vermicelli pilaf, you can prepare different noodle salads with this barley noodle, or you can add tomato sauce on it and use it as a main dish with various meats. Rice Vermicelli Recipe Ingredients
1,5 Cups of White Baldo Rice (300 ml)
50 grams Vermicelli
5 Tablespoons of Sunflower Oil
1 Tablespoon of Butter
1 Teaspoon of Salt
2 Cups of Boiling Water (400 ml)
How to make Rice Vermicelli?
Soak one cup (two hundred mililiter) white rice about one hour.
Wash the white rice and drain the rices well.
Add one tablespoon of butter in a deep hot pan.
Add five tablespoons of sunflower oil into this pan.
Add fifty grams vermicelli.
Roast the vermicellis until their color changes.
Add the washed white baldo rice into this pan.
Roast the white rices until the rices become transparent.
Add two cups (four hundred mililiter) of boiling water into this pan.
Add one teaspoon of salt.
Cook the rice about ten minutes.
Rices must absorb all the water.
Serve the rice with vermicelli hot.
