Sour Cherry Jam Ingredients
3 Kg Fresh Sour Cherries (2,5 Kg when they are cleaned)
2 Kg Granulated Sugar
1 Teaspoon of Butter
Juice of 1 Lemon
How to Make Sour Cherry Jam?
Wash three kilograms of fresh sour cherries well.
Three kilograms of fresh sour cherries wil be two and a half kilograms after cleaning.
Put the cleaned sour cherries into a deep pot.
Pour two kilograms of granulated sugar on the sour cherries.
Leave the sour cherries in a closed pot at room temperature for one night (at least eight hours) if possible to release their water.
Start cooking and add one teaspoon of butter.
Add juice of one lemon.
Cook the sour cherry jam maximum twenty five or thirty minutes.
If the consistency is not too runny, your jam is ready.
Put the sour cherry jam into the jars when it is still hot.
When the jams cool, put them into the refrigerator.
